Stall Cam Page
We occasionally allow access to our various cameras from the internet. A username and password is required.
Additionally:
1. Pop-up blockers may interfere - most can be temporarily disabled by holding down the <ctrl> key when clicking the link above.
2. Active-X components will need to be loaded to enable your machine to 'decode' the video. They are sent automatically if you need them. You must allow both the download AND installation of the drivers to see the video.
3. Windows XP service-pack 2 will display a skinny notification bar just under the address bar asking if you want to allow this (you do, at least from us).
4. The download takes a minute or two - wait for it. Say yes after it downloads so the drivers will install.
5. Windows based machines only. Sorry. I have no idea how to get video to you if you can't run Active-X.
Hardware used:
All video is compressed with proprietary mpeg-4 compression and each vendor supplies there own viewer.
StallCam 1 is a D-Link DCS-2100+ with an add-on 2.8mm to 16mm zoom lens, set to about 3.5mm.
StallCam 2 is a LinkSys WVC54G with a factory 6mm lens.
A single D-Link DWL900AP+ wireless access point gets these two cameras onto my network.
StallCam 3 is a Samsung SSC14WEB security camera system that has a little 32 bit processor running some flavor of Linux. It is directly connected to my ethernet network. Cameras have a factory supplied 3.6mm lens.
All cameras are mounted about 12 to 13' above the floor. Sprint's basic 512/162 aDSL service gets the video out on the internet. I have had reports of useable video from dialup users. www.DynDNS.org keeps track of my IP address and lets me have the fully qualified domain name for linking.
